About Us
Finance Expertise.
Climate Focus.
A finance-led advisory practice built around the realities of climate transition in African markets.
Our Story
Why This Work. Why Now.
Climate conversations can easily become abstract. For a business leader, however, the questions are concrete: What could climate change do to revenue, costs, assets, supply chains, financing, or long-term value? What investments should be made now? And what will lenders and investors need to see as the economy changes?
Peatland was created to work in that space between climate risk, business strategy and capital. We bring the analytical discipline of finance and transformation work to climate questions, helping clients move from broad awareness to decisions that can be prioritised, financed and implemented.
Our perspective is deliberately grounded in the realities of African markets: constrained capital, infrastructure challenges, changing regulation, evolving investor expectations, and the need to balance resilience with growth. We are based in Lagos and work across private-sector, public-sector and development-finance contexts.
Our Approach
Practical. Grounded. Finance-Led.
We do not approach climate advisory as an environmental exercise. We approach it as a financial one. Climate risk is already affecting asset values, insurance costs, supply chains, and access to capital for businesses in Lagos and across Nigeria. Our job is to help clients see those exposures clearly and build strategies that strengthen their position rather than leave them reacting to changes they did not anticipate.
We work with internationally recognised frameworks — TCFD, GRI, SASB, SBTi, and Paris Agreement-aligned investment principles — not because frameworks are an end in themselves, but because they are the language that investors, development finance institutions, and regulators increasingly speak. Helping our clients become fluent in that language is part of what we do.
Honest Assessment
We tell clients what they need to know, not what they want to hear. A credible climate strategy begins with an honest understanding of where a business actually stands.
Actionable Advice
Every recommendation we make is grounded in what is realistic for the client. We prioritise practical steps that can be implemented, measured, and built on over time.
Long-Term Thinking
Climate transition is not a one-off project. We work with clients to embed climate considerations into how they plan and operate, not just how they report.

"I spent twenty years in institutional finance — managing large budgets, running transformation programmes, analysing risk. It was rigorous, demanding work, and I valued every part of it. But at a certain point I found myself asking a different question: where does this expertise matter most right now?"
"The answer, for me, was climate. Not because it was fashionable — but because I could see that the financial consequences of climate change were already real, already measurable, and already being priced into capital markets in ways that most businesses in Nigeria had not yet registered. That gap felt important. It still does."
"Peatland Capital Advisory exists because I believe that the businesses and communities most exposed to climate risk deserve access to the same quality of financial thinking that has historically been reserved for large institutions. That is what I am here to provide."
Our Commitment
Climate Finance for Africa, from Africa
Africa faces a disproportionate share of global climate risk while receiving a disproportionately small share of global climate finance. Closing that gap requires not only more capital flowing into the continent, but more African institutions and practitioners equipped to originate, evaluate, and manage climate-aligned investments effectively.
Peatland Capital Advisory is committed to being part of that solution — building the kind of credible, technically grounded climate finance practice in Lagos that can contribute to Africa's place in the global transition economy over the long term.
